Maintenance
For daily care, use a mild soap or pH-neutral detergent to clean the film’s surface. Avoid using products with extremely acidic or basic pH levels, as they can harm the material. When cleaning the film surface, only use soft cloths or sponges to prevent any damage. For stubborn stains, apply hot water (not boiling) to the affected area. If necessary, use a cleaning solution composed of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% water, applied with a melamine sponge. For sanitizing, use only isopropyl alcohol-based products like Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes (not for daily use). Avoid organic-based cleaners like ammonia or polish, as they can damage vinyl. Test any cleaning detergents, bactericides, or virucidal products on a hidden area first to ensure compatibility.
Installation guidance
- Install Cover Styl® film in a clean, dry and dust-free environment, with ambient and substrate temperatures between 12°C and 38°C. The substrate must be smooth, stable, clean, dry and free from dust, grease, silicone, wax and other contaminants. - Repair surface defects and always perform an adhesion test, especially on unknown or treated substrates. Porous or absorbent surfaces may require specific preparation and a full-surface primer. - Apply the film dry with a suitable felt squeegee, working progressively to remove air and ensure even adhesion. - Use heat to conform the film around curves and complex shapes, while avoiding excessive stretching or overheating. - Before installing multiple sheets, check the film direction, pattern repeat and the correct joint or overlap method. - Use sharp blades without damaging the substrate. After installation, check the edges, joints and overall finish. Refer to the latest Cover Styl Technical Manual for substrate preparation, primer selection and installation techniques.
